A BILL to amend and reenact §5B-2-12a of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, relating to authorizing the tourism commission the use of the tourism promotion fund to support the 2006 Washington D.C. advertising campaign to be promoted in the year two thousand six.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That §5B-2-12a of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:

§5B-2-12a. Tourism fund support for 2006 Washington D.C. Advertising Campaign.

Notwithstanding the provisions of section twelve of this article, the tourism commission may expend moneys from the tourism promotion fund in the amount necessary and up to but not exceeding seven three hundred fifty thousand dollars to support the 2004 Pete Dye West Virginia Classic in Harrison County which will be held in the month of July, two thousand four 2006 Washington D.C. Advertising Campaign to promote outdoor recreation in Southern West Virginia to be administered by the Division of Tourism which will take place in the spring of 2006 for approximately thirteen weeks. Any requirements for matching grants under the rules promulgated pursuant to section twelve of this article shall not apply to this section.
The provisions of this section shall expire on the thirtieth day of December, two thousand four six.
